Wyoming DMV Services

🚗 1️ When You Apply

  • Wyoming law expects you to title your vehicle before or at the time you register it.
  • You should complete these steps soon after purchase — there’s no strict statewide deadline like “30 days,” but counties may apply late penalties if you delay.

📄 2️ Proof of Ownership (Title)

  • Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO) (provided by the dealer).
  • A bill of sale or purchase contract showing vehicle details, sale price, and buyer/seller info.

🚘 Used Vehicle

  • Signed vehicle title transferred to you by the seller.
    • Seller must complete the assignment on the back of the title with sale price, date, buyer’s name, and odometer reading (if required).
  • If the original title is lost, the seller must apply for a duplicate title first before transferring.

🗺️ Out‑of‑State Vehicle

  • Present the out‑of‑state title signed over to you.
  • A VIN inspection or verification for used vehicles

🪪 3. Odometer Disclosure

  • Required if the vehicle is less than 10 years old.
  • The odometer reading must appear on the title assignment or on a separate odometer disclosure statement.

🧾 4. Proof of Insurance

  • You must show proof of minimum Wyoming auto liability insurance before the vehicle can be registered.
